Whether it’s a man-made genocide, crisis or a natural disaster, our mission remains the same: to provide immediate assistance and ensure that no one in our Ummah is left behind. Muharram is the time to give daily to help the millions of our Ummah who rely on us to relieve them of their hardship. This is our ammanah.

Emergency Relief

In a world where our Ummah face targeted oppression, genocide, natural disasters and unpredictable weather shifts – we must stand together to empower and support our Ummah.

From the Genocides in Palestine and Sudan, to the Pakistan crisis, Somalia Droughts and the Bangladesh Floods; millions are suffering at the hands of oppressors and natural disasters.

Amidst these challenges, MAA stands firm in responding to the most vulnerable, through supporting them with immediate relief and sustainable change.

Story of the Sahaba

The Muhajirin and Ansar are the Companions and students of the Prophet ﷺ. They are the best of this Ummah and the best of humanity after the Prophets and Messengers.

The Muhajirin are the ones who became Muslim before the conquest of Makkah and migrated to join the Messenger ﷺ in Madinah, where they settled.

They fled the persecution in Makkah, and left behind everything they knew to follow the command of the Messenger ﷺ to support Islam; their families, their homelands and their wealth.

The Ansar are the people of Madinah who welcomed the Messenger ﷺ and his Companions, the Muhajirin. The Ansar followed the Prophets ﷺ command to support their brothers, the Muhajirin, who came with nothing.

They gave them refuge in Madinah and shared their wealth with them, even though they needed it, they offered their homes, and even families in marriage; all for the sake of Allah – to relieve hardship from their brothers and sisters when they needed the help the most.

The generosity of the Ansar is something our Ummah carries forward today. In the time of persecution, the Ansar helped the Muhajirin – and now, our Ummah is being targeted and struck by disaster.

From genocide to natural natural diastaters, we must remember the example of the Ansar and strive to take it forward.

Your invaluable support ensures that essential emergency relief punctually reaches those confronting devastating situations, providing hope amidst the chaos of natural disasters and manmade crises.

Note: At MAA, we believe we have a duty to fight injustice at every level, big and small. It’s not enough to give aid to the most vulnerable and marginalised after harm has befallen them; we must stand up for them and empower their voices. To fulfil our collective obligation, MAA may dedicate a portion of your sadaqah donations to this cause to create change and dismantle the forces that harm the most marginalised.
